Quitting For my Baby
“When I became pregnant, I knew I needed to quit smoking. And early on, morning sickness made cigarettes less appealing. But as my pregnancy progressed, I knew that I couldn’t quit and remain quit without some support. So I called the quitline and reached out for assistance. Specially-trained pregnancy coaches supported my quit process from my first trimester until four months after my son was born, when I felt ready to go at it on my own. I’m so happy with my decision to quit and stay quit. Taking naps helps me when I start to feel like I want a cigarette. And every day, I feel better and better. It feels great to be able to spend money on my son, rather than on cigarettes.”
